Our girl Riri is back! The Barbadian beauty “shined bright like a diamond” during her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on Sunday, February 12. Super Bowl LVII occurred between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in Glendale, Arizona. Most viewers watch the legendary sports event for the big game. Others enjoy the array of unique and comedic commercials throughout the broadcast. However, the halftime show has become a highly anticipated event highlight over the years.

What made this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show even more special was the long-awaited return of the Fenty mogul to music. After being away from the stage for seven years to dominate in the fashion and beauty industries, fans were ecstatic to see her back in her musical element. Rihanna performed a medley of hits from her elite catalog while suspended on a platform overlooking tens of thousands.

The fashion icon commanded attention in a bright red Alaïa puffer coat over a red Loewe jumpsuit and glossy bustier. She completed the look with a pair of Maison Margiela x Salomon sneakers. Rihanna was backed by fierce dancers that didn’t disappoint as fireworks lit up the Arizona night sky.

The “Work” singer mentioned that she would bring a special guest with her that night, and though it was not one of her celebrity peers, it was still a special guest indeed. The new mommy revealed that she was expecting her second child, adding another iconic on-stage pregnancy reveal to the entertainment history books. The reveal, paired with the spirited performance, inspired women everywhere to embrace being enough and conquering it all.

Following the performance, NFL statistics confirmed that Riri had the second-most watched halftime show in Super Bowl history with 118.7 million viewers, more viewers than the game itself. According to Forbes, Rihanna also saw a 390% boost in song sales. Her makeup line Fenty Beauty, which made a promotional cameo during the performance, “profited $5.6 million in earned media within the first 12 hours following the game. Her lingerie line, Savage X Fenty, raked in $2.6 million,” according to Launchmetrics. So, the performance served as a comeback concert and the most profitable Super Bowl commercial ever. That Rihanna reign just won’t let up!
