Hello ladies (Stephanie Vincent & Helene Delince) thank you for sitting down with The Official Black Magazine. We are intrigued to get to know more about The Fitting Curve.

What exactly motivated you to start The Fitting Curve?

Well, we noticed that women were wearing incorrect bra sizes & there were very few places that you could go to be fitted right. We fit all sizes of women and even women who have battled breast cancer we are able to fit those women as well.

Wow, yes definitely now did you know how to bra fit by training or classes?

We actually worked in retail for years, there was actually an internship with a lady from London. We trained with her to learn correct fitting and sizing. Oh wow that had to be an awesome experience.

So I noticed that you are based in New York, so you have plans to expand?

Yes, eventually we would love to. We are a small business and the majority of our services are in store. To get funding to expand a black owned business has been difficult.

Absolutely, I’ve heard especially for black owned women it has been difficult to get loans. So I know unfortunately during the pandemic many small businesses had to close. How was The fitted Curve able to stay afloat?

Well we had a great support system from our community. Our landlord of the building worked with us and was very patient with us during the pandemic process. Our customers were amazing as well, we offered drop off services, online fitting, and one on one one appointments to accommodate our customers.

That’s awesome, yes community support is important especially with small businesses. Now can customers order online?

We don’t have a lot of online ordering, we are majority in store for fitting and ordering. Okay of course to get a correct fit I can understand that.

Based on you being a small business have you done any collaborations?

Absolutely a lot of community networking and collaborations and we also did a collaboration with the Red Cross.

Thank you so much ladies for allowing us to learn about the work you’re doing to help women feel more confident in their bra purchases.

Well Thank you for shining a light on what we do & as we grow as a woman black owned business.
